Are Pre-Existing Conditions Covered

Postby InsuranceGuru » Wed Mar 02, 2016 1:30 pm

In general, pre-existing conditions are not covered with international health insurance plans. Typically, your case will be considered during underwriting (review of your medical history). You may be asked for additional information on your medical history and medical records. After review, the underwriter will make a determination as to insure you 1) as originally quoted, 2) with an enhanced (increase in) premium, 3) with an exclusionary rider for the pre-existing condition or 4) they will deny the application.

You can request another look or reconsideration. It is worth the effort. You often can provide additional insight not easily picked up through a simple review of medical documents. Work with a broker who can advocate for you!
